Cluster University of Jammu organized an Induction Cum Interaction Programme for the newly admitted students to the PGI Schools of the university. Mr. V.K.Singh, IPS, DG Prison, Fire & Emergency Services was the keynote speaker for the programme.
The programme commenced with the lighting of traditional lamp by the dignitaries. Prof. Anju Bhasin, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Cluster University of Jammu in her inaugural address opined that the university puts academic values high on agenda for discussion and debate and promotes research and education. She urged the students to imbibe the values of tolerance, empathy, freedom of speech, inclusiveness and empowerment as these enable us to understand our past, present and to prepare for the future. She advised them to take responsibility for learning, utilise the time spent at campus to the fullest and embrace difference. She also affirmed that CLUJ envisions to nurture a community of productive intellectuals who are both socially sensitized and morally upright.
Dr. Twinkle Suri, Dean Students Welfare, Cluster University of Jammu extended a zealous welcome to the young learners at the Induction Ceremony. She exhorted that CLUJ education is a chance to aspire, inspire, explore and achieve and that the university offers a roadmap for navigating academic, social and other extra curricular activities to the students under one umbrella indicating the ethos of a cluster- together as equals, signifying the plurality and diversity of the university. 
Dr. Jatinder Khajuria, Registrar, Cluster University of Jammu initiated the pledge to students encouraging them to strive for excellence, academic integrity and upholding moral character. He also espoused the university’s vision of creating a Knowledge society of enriched learners that fosters growth, responsibility and community engagement.
Mr. V.K. Singh, DG Prison, Fire & Emergency Services, the Keynote Speaker at the event detailed the concept of social and emotional learning, an umbrella term referring to students’ acquisition of skills to recognize and manage emotions, develop care and concern for others, make responsible decisions, establish positive relationships and handle challenges. He advised the students to embrace the varied opportunities at campus so that these formative years would be a stepping stone of their transformation as responsible individuals for a dynamic future.  Jb. Talat Parvez Rohella, Secretary to Govt. Higher Education, lauded the efforts of the university in organizing a meaningful Induction Programme as it offers a panoramic view of the endeavors undertaken by CLUJ from time to time. He stressed on the need of making the university a hub of technical excellence imparting employability skills to the young learners enabling them to compete in the modern tech- savvy world. He pledged full support from the government for quality upgradation of CLUJ.
Prof. Poonam Dhawan, Dean Academic Affairs, Prof. Mushtaq Ahmed Lone, Controller Examinations, Deans of faculties, Coordinators and faculty of various Schools, were present at the function. A formal vote of thanks was given by Dr. Banpreet Kour, Associate Dean Students Welfare, CLUJ.
Dr. Eva Sharma along with Ms. Prerna from the School of Humanities and Liberal Arts compered the proceedings of the event.
